Mission
To create space for genuine, in-person connection in a world that increasingly mediates everything through a screen. We build tools that surface honest signal about gatherings, rooms, and communities — so people can spend their evenings on what actually matters to them, not on whatever paid for placement.
Origin story
IRL began as a conversation between a few people who kept noticing the same thing: the relationships that shaped them most weren't built online. The events they remembered weren't the ones with the biggest marketing budgets — they were the ones a friend insisted were worth the trip.
That observation turned into a question — what would it look like to build something intentionally around showing up? This site, and the live read at /preview, are the first answers.
